Hi! My name is Asta and I am here to help you. I am the founder and executive director of Beautiful Mind Therapy, a private practice that provides effective counseling to individuals, couples, and families.

My clients tell me I am compassionate, warm, and goal-oriented. Life is too short not to laugh, so I frequently use humor in therapy sessions. You can count on me to help improve your life, reach goals, and find answers.

From an early age I experienced the desire to spend my life helping others and have always felt like psychology was my calling. A career in clinical psychology was a natural choice for me. I was born in Lithuania but have spent most of my adult life in the United States. I started volunteering at a Suicide Crisis Line when I was sixteen. I later initiated a "Youth to Youth" drug prevention program in Lithuania. My professional training began with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Roosevelt University in Schaumburg, Illinois. I completed my Master of Arts in Clinical Professional Psychology at the same university, graduating with honors. Throughout my professional journey I have sought out the most cutting-edge techniques, and I have trained extensively with leading experts in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). I was fortunate enough to attend the world-famous Evolution of Psychotherapy Conference in Anaheim, California, in 2013 and 2017 as well as the Brief Therapy Conference in San Francisco, California in 2018, where I had the opportunity to learn from the most recognized psychologists in the field.

After completing my education, I was offered opportunities to work in a variety of facilities, including several hospitals, mental health centers, and an emergency room.  During my time as part of an inpatient treatment team at the Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital’s eating disorders and self-injury unit, I acquired extensive training and experience in working with eating disorders. The ability to work in such a diverse group of facilities has allowed me to develop a wide range of professional expertise.

My clientele include people who experience stress at work or school, and others who struggle with relationship issues, fear of change, and unhealthy eating habits.

Am I the right therapist for you? This is an important question we can seriously consider together. The right counselor will make a big difference in helping you achieve a greater sense of happiness and satisfaction as well as an improved outlook on life. The best way to find out if we can work well together is to contact me. Call me at 708-695-4808 or simply e-mail me, and I will respond within 24 hours.

I look forward to speaking with you.
